Elizabeth joined us in 2012 after 25 years as a Clifford Chance LLP finance partner, including 12 years as a securitisation partner in the London and Milan offices.
Elizabeth trained and practised as a tax lawyer at Slaughter and May before moving to Linklaters as a banking and capital markets lawyer and then Clifford Chance as a finance lawyer.
Her securitisation experience prior to joining Raines & Co includes a wide range of assets including aircraft leases, auto loans, CMBS and RMBS. Elizabeth advised an international rating agency on most of its European cross-border securitisation deals for six years while in Milan and has extensive Italian securitisation experience, including the first Italian covered bond.
Prior to retiring from Clifford Chance, Elizabeth wrote more than a dozen Clifford Chance document templates and forms of opinion for RMBS transactions as well as other securitisation templates.
During her career at Clifford Chance, Elizabeth worked on the first (pre ISDA) swap transaction in the London market, what was at the time the largest ship finance ever and a broad range of work for the World Bank’s private finance arm, International Finance Corporation. Her other bank finance experience includes aircraft finance, project finance, restructuring and syndicated loans.
Elizabeth has appeared for more than 20 years in directories of leading finance lawyers.
Elizabeth holds an MA in History from Girton College, Cambridge and is admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales
